A Friend on Facebook yesterday shared this amazing piece of BATMAN Art he did recently & I thought it was decent enough to share ( Ha Ha, just kidding, it's great! ). Actually it's an extremely well done Tribute to ADAM WEST from the 1960's Batman TV Series. This Digital Art was drawn on a Wacom Tablet by our buddy Kevin Stark. The rendering of West's face is dead-on perfect! I like the coloring/shading, the use of the fine black outline, & even that wacky yellow-paisley wallpaper background... GROOVY! BATMAN 1966 TV SHOW and MOVIE REPLICA PROPS - The Batzooka and Bat-Shield!

Check out these amazing replicas of a few props from the 1960's BATMAN TV Show and Movie! Our Buddy "BatDave" is holding the BATZOOKA! It was originally seen in the 1966 Batman movie as a Batcharge Launcher, in the scene where Robin, The Boy Wonder, used it to fire at The Penguin Submarine!

Then, we have the BAT-SHIELD, held up by our Friend Louie! This "Weapon" appeared mainly on the Adam West and Burt Ward BATMAN TV Series. It protected Batman and Robin from harm caused by Villains!!

Both of these were made by Louie and you can see the love that went into them because they have such great detail! ( Thanks to BatDave for sharing this fun photo ).

ADAM WEST TRIBUTE WALLPAPER By Graphic Artist Andy Fish Celebrates 45th Anniversary of The 1966 BATMAN TV Series

Last night we got this awesome ADAM WEST BATMAN TRIBUTE WALLPAPER that was made by our friend, Graphic Artist Andy Fish. The artwork is very cool & has a 1960's POP ART feel about it. Which, is totally appropriate because it's meant to celebrate the 45th Anniversary of The 1966 BATMAN TV Series. Wow, 45 years! Man, I really feel old now, ha! I was 2 years old when this TV Show appeared & right from the beginning I was completely hooked, I loved it! Watching it now, as an Adult, I gotta admit that's it's kinda cheesy. But when I was very very little, and Batman or Robin were held in some Crazy Death Trap... I was extremely concerned for their lives, ha! I wanna thank Andy for making this '66 BATMAN WALLPAPER for the Bat-Blog. He did a great job on it & I wanna say that people should check out his other art too. The JUNIOR BATSQUAD Strikes Back!!

The JUNIOR BATSQUAD is a group of Kids living in New Jersey who are all total Batman Fans, they're AWESOME! Well, these photos are from a recent field trip where they got to visit a Super BATMAN Toy Collector who has a ton of cool collectibles. While there they goofed around & took these fun pics for the Bat-Blog.



In the 1st one they holding up an extremely RARE Autographed Framed Photo of Lewis Wilson as BATMAN, from the 1943 Serial Movies. I guess you could say he was the very 1st Batman Actor! Sadly, he died in 2000 at the golden age of 80. It's an extremely cool photo.



Next, the Kids are playing with a 1967 BATMAN Movie Prop. Actually, it's a Replica of the BOMB made famous by Adam West. I love the pose of the Boy holding it, just like West in the film, hilarious!!

Glenn's CUSTOM BATMAN TOYS With CATWOMAN Dolls and 1967 BATGIRL Model Kit

Check out these amazing Custom Catwoman Dolls, Batgirl Model Kit, & Re-Designed Retro-Style Batman Toys! These were all made and or customized by our friend Glenn, also known as "infadoll". He likes to take old beat-up toys and give them new life. His main focus is Superhero-related characters. Shown here are two versions of Catwoman. The 1st one is Julie Newmar from the 1966 BATMAN TV Series. The fabric for the costume looks great & the necklace is really nice too. Then you have the "Golden Age" version from the 1940's comic books...MEOW!








The 3rd photo shows his talent for adding dioramas to his model kits. Here is a "Yvonne Craig" Batgirl from the 2nd season of TV's BATMAN. Wow, the face looks just like hers! Then, look at the last 2 pics. This is an old Vintage 1960's Palmolive BATMAN SOAKY Bubble Bath Bottle... transformed into ADAM WEST! If you're not familiar with the old toy it was actually extremely simple-looking & basic. In Glenn's version he detailed it quite a bit & made it more authentic to the TV Show, Coolness! The Bat-Blog was recently blessed with a preview of a brand-new illustration by famed Graphic Designer Christopher Franchi. He's the Art Director for Metaluna 5 Media, which handles a lot of licensed properties like: KISS, Bettie Page, Alice Cooper, Star Trek, Superman, Spawn, Peanuts, Evil Dead, Betty Boop and the list goes on & on. Here is an EXCLUSIVE & Super-Awesome 1966 BATMAN WALLPAPER Chris created for the BAT-BLOG! Well, he did all the artwork & I put the Bat-Blog Logo on it, ha! Now, of course, this image relates to the 1960's BATMAN MOVIE because it shows Lee Merriwether as Catwoman. Plus, it's got the other Super-Evil Villains: The Joker ( Cesar Romero ), The Penguin ( Burgess Meredith ), The Riddler ( Frank Gorshin ), and the Hero himself, BATMAN ( Adam West )! The artwork is extremely amazing! The illustrations were all done on Cold-Press Art Board with Gouache and Colored Pencil. Then, they were scanned and assembled digitally. I like how each character has their own colored-outline, to make them sort of pop-off the page. There is also that "light ray" effect that's pretty freakin' cool!! Batman's ADAM WEST is Finally Getting His STAR On the Hollywood Walk of Fame!!

The Official HOLLYWOOD WALK OF FAME Website has announced that, in 2012, Adam West will be getting a STAR on the Walk of Fame!! It will be awarded for the TELEVISION category, which is great, because it sort of relates to the 1966 BATMAN TV Show. You might remember reading about this battle to get a star here at the Bat-Blog. All along we have tried to be as supportive as we could & we're really proud of this announcement. So, since we'll have to wait till next year to see his star I thought I would post this mock-up photo I made ( Ha Ha! ) and please enjoy this video, that was one of many, to garner support. MEET BATMAN AND ROBIN, THE BOY WONDER, LIVE IN PERSON! The Actors from the Classic 1966 BATMAN TV Show, Adam West and Burt Ward, will be at this years Wizard World Philadelphia Comic Con 2011. The event starts tomorrow, Friday, June 17th & runs the whole weekend. So, if you live near that area then you need to drop by & say, "Howdy!". The convention will also have a ton of Comic Book Artists, who over the years, have worked on a BATMAN title. Oh man, I am so jealous of this photo & proud of it too. The Bat-Blog has a new friend named Drew who really got to meet his favorite superheroes in person! We're talking about Batman and Robin, The Boy Wonder!! Actually, we're talking about Burt Ward and Adam West!! The Actors from the Classic 1966 BATMAN TV Show were at a Comic Book Convention recently where Drew got to take this wonderful photo. Man, what a great pic! Andy's BATMAN and JOKER Custom Artwork

Over at the Bat-Blog's Facebook page we recently met a very talented Graphic Artist named Andy Pemberton. He's a huge Batman Fan & since his Son is too he has even made a few items for his him. The first photo shows a nice pair of Custom-Painted Converse Shoes with images of Batman and The Joker from the "Batman: The Brave and The Bold" TV Show. This pair looks incredible & whoever does marketing for that show should sell these, they're great! But Andy's other shoes he has made are nice too. Check out the ones with Mr. Freeze ( Animated Series ) & Poison Ivy ( Comic Book Cover ) graphics... nice! Then, in the last photo, there's a few items Andy made for his Son. It's a Custom 1966 Batmobile-Inspired Bicycle Ride-On!! He also made him a Bike Safety-Helmet that looks like the Cowl worn by Adam West. Plus, there's a great Messenger Bike Bag with graphics from the animated intro to the classic '66 TV Show... AWESOME!! ( Thanks to Andy for sharing these pics & keep up the good work ).

Reminder - FREE COMIC BOOK DAY is Saturday, May 7th

Just a friendly reminder that tomorrow, Saturday, May 7th is FREE COMIC BOOK DAY. This is when you can hit your favorite Comic Book Retail Store ( or Public Library, in some cities ) and pick-up some free comics!! Now, this year there will be 2 books you will want to pick-up that are sort of Batman-related. The 1st one is a "Young Justice / Batman: The Brave and The Bold" issue. This book features stories with characters from each Cartoon Network animated TV series. The 2nd one is totally wacky & comes from Bluewater Productions, "The Mis-Adventures of Adam West". Reading it, I know he mentions the Batman character from time to time but it really is more about Mr. West himself. It's kind of wacky too, ha! For a list of ALL the free books they're gonna have be sure to click HERE! Also, while you're there, you can click on a book's cover & then read a sample of it online ( Read some of the "Adam West" one to get an idea of it ).

1966 BATMAN TV Show - Uncle Sam PSA Propaganda P osters

While surfing through the evil eBay the other day I came across a Graphic Artist selling these BATMAN "I Want You" PSA POSTERS ( Public Service Announcement ). Of course they're all a parody of the classic UNCLE SAM Army Enlistment Propaganda Posters from World War II, but they feature characters from the 1966 BATMAN TV Show! I think they look pretty cool! We get to see Batman ( Adam West ), Robin The Boy Wonder ( Burt Ward ), and Batgirl ( Yvonne Craig ). The funny thing is that the Batgirl Poster says, "I want you to return all your books to Gotham City Public Library". You see, in the television series Batgirl was also Barbara Gordon, who was a Librarian in Gotham, ha ha!
