BATMAN- FRANKENSTEIN STATUES Make an Appearance at the IT'S ALIVE Art Show

The "It's Alive" Project celebrates eight decades of the Frankenstein Monster by presenting 80 re-imagined Life Size Boris Karloff Frankenstein Busts. Each of the 80 artists have been asked to recreate the monster in their own vision, style and hand. You will be amazed and frightened by what can happen when these talented artists unleash their creative monsters on this unique and terrifying project. Now of course we're featuring most of the Batman-related ones here at the BAT-BLOG.COM ( The Dark Knight, Joker, and Two-Face ) but I had to add the ones of the Frankenberry Cereal Character and Star Trek's Mr.Spock because they totally crack me up, ha ha!



The busts will be on display and available for purchase at the City Arts Factory in Downtown Orlando, Florida from October 20th through November 15th, 2011.

BATMAN FINE ART SCULPTURE by Ceramics Artist Calvin

I recently discovered an Artist's website where he showcases his cool Ceramic Work. His name is Calvin & he lives in the San Francisco area. His artwork is very very impressive! He has his own style of Art where he makes Humanoid Creatures that are very organic, think: Wood, Fire, Water... that kinda thing. They're really great!



But, he also did a series of Superhero Characters and, obviously, my favorite was the Dark Knight himself, BATMAN! Now, in that Superhero Series, he also made an incredible X-Men Comics Wolverine, He-Man The Master of The Universe, Captain America, Amazing Spiderman, and Lion-O ( Thundercats ). BATMAN ARKHAM CITY Life-Size Statue by Studio Oxmox

We recently did a post here at the BAT-BLOG.COM where we reported about the BATMAN ARKHAM CITY Video Game Launching Event in NYC. It was held at Toys-R-Us & had a few surprises. One of them was an extremely cool Life-Size Statue they had of Batman. It was very detailed & sort of hyper-realistic looking. Plus, it looked EXACTLY like the character in the Video Game, very very cool! Well later on, at Facebook, we were talking about it a little bit & a friend said he knew who made it.


The statue was created for the event by a company called STUDIO OXMOX. I researched their website & they make a HUGE amount of movie promo items & statues. Their work is really great! If I ever win the Lottery, I will probably call them up & buy everything they make( of course, right after I call the guy who makes 1966 Batmobile Replica Cars, ha ha! ). BATMAN ARKHAM CITY - Cool Photo From The Video Game Launch at Times Square

This is just a quick post to share a very cool photo that was taken at the recent BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY Video Game Launch at the Toys-R-Us Store in Times Square, NYC. It shows Jim Lee ( DC Comics ), Some Guy Who Worked on the Game ( Rocksteady ), Batman ( Life-Size Statue ), and Kevin Conroy ( Batman Voice Actor ). That special statue, probably made just for the event, is extremely cool. That thing would look awesome in my Kitchen or Bathroom!

Pete's Custom MICHAEL KEATON BATMAN STATUE BUST Update

Awhile back, here at the BAT-BLOG.COM, we featured a few photos of the work of some very creative people who have been inspired by Batman. One Artist was a guy named Pete & this photo was recently sent in to us. It's his Custom BATMAN BUST Statue, "Michael keaton" version. The previous photo showed the piece in an early stage of creation. Well, this pic was taken after it was all painted! My favorite part, and I know this is kinda dumb on my part, is the "Bat-Belt" design at the base. I don't know, that's kinda clever. But overall it's a great piece. DC Direct just announced a brand-new BATMAN Statue to keep an eye out for in the future. This is the "Batman Bust" from the HEROES OF THE DC UNIVERSE, SERIES 2. It was designed by Gary Frank & sculpted by Artist Jean St. Jean. This cold-cast porcelain bust measures approx. 5 3/4" high x 5" wide x 5" deep and will have a suggested retail price of $ 75.00. It's planned to go on Sale April 4th, 2012. So, look for it then.

Exclusive BATMAN STATUE For Japanese ARKHAM CITY Collector's Edition

OK, for now, this is sort of a rumor I have not been able to 100% confirm but supposedly Japan will have a completely different Batman Statue inside their Japanese retail version of the BATMAN: ARKHAM CITY Collector's Edition Video Game. We have all seen the Statue for the USA & Europe versions, it's pictured on the left. On the right side might be the one for Japan. It's basically the same thing, just more colorized. It also looks a lot more realistically detailed. But hey, please stay tuned to the Bat-Blog & if we get more information on this then we'll report it.

NEW BATMAN STATUE - YEAR ONE Maquette ( DVD Movie )

DC Direct just announced a brand-new BATMAN Statue that will be coming out later this year. It's a Maquette Figure based on the BATMAN: YEAR ONE character from the DC Universe Animated Original Movie DVD. Oh man, it's beautiful! I like the retro-style. It was sculpted by DEREK MILLER. This hand-painted, cold-cast porcelain Maquette-Statue of BATMAN will be released on September 27th, 2011. It will measure about 9.8" high x 7.75" wide x 5" deep. Also, it's a Limited Edition. Meet JOE KUBERT at Dewey's Comic City in Madison, NJ

If you live near Madison, New Jersey then here's your chance to meet a Comic Book Legend, Joe Kubert! He's mostly known for working on the Sgt. Rock comics but he has also done a ton of work with Batman ( Just a few covers shown here ). In fact, they made one of the "Batman: Black and White" Statues in his honor. I love the BATMAN: BLACK AND WHITE Statues and this new one that's just been announced totally cracks me up! This latest statue from DC Direct is designed by Sergio Aragonés with a classic MAD MAGAZINE look! This cold-cast porcelain statue measures approximately 6.5" high x 7.5" wide x 4" deep, is painted in monochromatic tones, features a Bat-logo-shaped base and is packaged in a black and white box. Brad's Awesome BATMAN AND JOKER Statue Collection

I recently received some very nice photos from a fellow Batman Collector named Brad ( Be sure to click on them for larger, more detailed, pics ). He has a really great Batman Statue Collection. Now, there were a ton of photos so I'm just showing a few right now, and later I will post the rest. But I'm putting them in categories, so they make sense, so don't worry. These pics focus mainly on the Batman: Black and White statues. Then, there's a few other busts & random statues... all great stuff! I think it's really neat to see a lot of the B&W figures all together. They always make an interesting display. My next post will focus on his Joker Collection so stay tuned for that.
