New BATMAN Licensed Cotton Fabric In Stores Now!

OK, Arts and Crafts Fans are gonna freak-out over this news! A Good Friend to the Bat-Blog, named Jennifer, sent us some wonderful photos of a brand-new set of DC Comics Licensed-Products, BATMAN Cotton Fabric!! Oh yeah, here's some new Bolts of Cloth with graphic appeal! Right now many Creative Bat-Blog Readers are thinking of a hundred uses: Custom Shirts, Dresses, Handbags, Quilts, Baby Blankets, etc... but my idea is that this stuff would make very excellent curtains, ha!

Jennifer sent us some amazing examples of the diversity of design they all have but I gotta say that the very 1st photo is my personal favorite. I love that all-over design & the clip art they used. Of course, the other ones with a simple Bat-Symbol Logo could be great for for projects too. ( Thank You Jennifer ). Hey, if anybody makes some stuff outta this fabric then please let us know. New BATMAN CEREAL BOX - DC Comics Promo By General Mills

Here's a new "Batman Product" you might keep an eye out for on your next shopping trip to the Grocery Store. General Mills Cereals is running a promo with DC Comics to promote the JUSTICE LEAGUE characters. They have a neat Cereal Box with some small "DC Comics" graphics on the front, but the cool thing is that one of the boxes has a large cut-out mask of Batman on the back! Also, FREE INSIDE, is a really great mini-size comic book. It's actually very decent quality measuring about 5" X 7" with 12 pages. The grade of the paper & color printing is really nice. I was sort of impressed with it as a cereal premium. There are 4 books to collect. I got Issue #2, shown here.

New BATMAN Book - DEATH BY DESIGN by CHIP KIDD and DAVE TAYLOR

Yesterday, DC Comics released the news of one of their future BATMAN Books that will be titled "Batman, Death By Design". They even showcased the beautiful cover art ( see pic up above ). This is the book written by Chip Kidd & illustrated by Dave Taylor. It will be a Deluxe Format Graphic Novel & is scheduled for release in Spring of 2012. I'm sure, as new information becomes available, we will have more news later. So, stay tuned to the BAT-BLOG.COM & we will let you know. NEW BATMAN CHESS Board Game - DC COLLECTION by UK Eaglemoss

For our friends in England, the UK Eaglemoss Company has just announced a brand-new product called the "DC CHESS COLLECTION". Which is kinda weird because basically it's a BATMAN CHESS SET! They pretty much sell the game pieces one at a time ( I think you have to subscribe ) & each piece comes with a special magazine featuring origin stories of that character. They have already announced the 1st five Characters / Game Pieces ( shown here ) & teased about the next three ( Catwoman, Red Hood, & Hush ). The 5 include: Batman, Robin, Joker, Commissioner Gordon, & Two-Face. I scanned their website like crazy trying to find out how tall these pieces are, but nothing, sorry. RETROACTIVE BATMAN Comic Books Still Going Strong! Now We Get "The 90s"!

This week, on Wednesday (2 days ago ), the latest "RETROACTIVE BATMAN, The 1990s" Comic Book came out. I have not read it yet but the cover was done by Norm Breyfogle so you know it's gotta be good, ha! It's nice to see him back drawing Batman, even if it's only for this one-shot comic. The story line involves the Ventriloquist and Scarface. Two characters Norm Breyfogle helped make famous back in the day. There's a brand new story & then they reprint a classic from the 90's. What a cool concept! DC Comics should do this more often. In the last few weeks they have also released book like these that celebrate the 70's & 80's. They were pretty popular so I see this one doing well also. It should still be in stores now, hopefully, so go grab yours today!

DC Retroactive 1970's BATMAN #1 in Stores Now!

OK, if you're hitting the Comic Book Shop today then you need to keep an eye out for this baby! This is the cover to the "DC Retroactive 1970's BATMAN #1" One-Shot. I love the old DC Comics logo, & speaking of that, I also love the 70's BATMAN logo too ( Click on the above graphic for a larger photo ). You see, these are the comic books I grew-up with & it's just nice to see them again. Of course back then they only cost 25 cents, "Holy Inflation, Batman!" This one-shot issue features both a brand new story and a classic story by Len Wein, originally published in the 1970s. It also features art by Tom Mandrake, John Calnan and Dick Giordano.

Shown here, for your viewing pleasure, are 3 cool foreign Batman Comic Books. The 1st one is Arabic, the 2nd is Italian, & the 3rd is English ( but from the UK ). If you live near Madison, New Jersey then here's your chance to meet a Comic Book Legend, Joe Kubert! He's mostly known for working on the Sgt. Rock comics but he has also done a ton of work with Batman ( Just a few covers shown here ). In fact, they made one of the "Batman: Black and White" Statues in his honor. New BATMAN AND ROBIN Comic Book Cover is Crazy!

I mean "crazy" in a good way, ha! Here is the extremely surrealistic cover art by Chris Burnham for BATMAN AND ROBIN # 26, due in August. The main story involves the Dynamic Duo going to France because lunatics have escaped from Le Jardin Noir, the French equivalent to Gotham City's Arkham Asylum. The story was written by David Hine and illustrated by Greg Tocchini. But check out this wacky-cool cover!! DC RETROACTIVE - NORM BREYFOGLE & ALAN GRANT Are Making BATMAN COMICS Again!

OK, Batman Comic Book Fans from the late 80's & early 90's will totally remember the artwork of Norm Breyfogle. He drew the character from 1987 to 1993. Well, DC Comics is bringing him back for a one-shot called "DC RETROACTIVE: BATMAN, The 90's". Now, don't look for it real soon, it doesn't hit the shops until August 17th, ha! But it should be pretty cool & well worth the wait because they're also bringing back the same Writer from that period, Alan Grant! Both Norm & Alan will revisit a pair of villains closely associated with their original run on The Caped Crusader: The Ventriloquist and Scarface! Released on a technicality one year after being arrested, this bizarre duo is determined to reclaim their status in the upper echelon of Batman’s Rogues Gallery. This “lost tale” of the era spins directly out of DETECTIVE COMICS #613, reprinted in this issue!

What Country Are These BATMAN Comics From?

Anyone who has been reading the BAT-BLOG for any length of time knows that I am totally goo-goo for Batman "Foreign Comic Books", ha! But here are two ( images, not actual books ) that I recently found & I have no idea where they're from. So, this post was made to ask everyone out there, "Do you know what country these came from or maybe the publisher?" Both of them look like reprints. The 1st one with the Joker on the cover has the artwork from the original cover to Joker #2. The next comic is a reprint of a 1960's story with classic art by Carmine Infantino. I forget the number of the actual BATMAN issue but it's a very iconic image.
